HVI-2 Taneco (Group II)

HVI base oils are the product of hydroisomerization/hydrofinishing of unconverted residue from a hydrocracking unit.

HVI-2 is an isoparaffinic base oil used as a base stock for the manufacture of hydraulic and transformer oils, special cooling fluids, and for metalworking.

Characteristics:
• Viscosity index — min 100.
• Density at +15 °C — 895 kg/m³.
• Flash point, closed cup — 200 °C.
• Pour point — max –45 °C.
• Acid number — max 0.01 mg KOH per 1 g oil.
• Sulfur content — not specified.

Advantages:
• High viscosity index;
• Good low-temperature and detergent properties;
• Contains no mechanical impurities or water;
• Good pumpability in freezing conditions and ensures easy engine start-up;
• Retains stability when heated.
