Oil I-12A is a general-purpose industrial oil, distillate, from selectively refined sour crudes. Contains no additives. It is a product of petroleum feedstock refining. Used as feedstock for the production of industrial, hydraulic, and other lubricating oils, metalworking fluids (coolants), as well as a working fluid in hydraulic systems.
Selected characteristics:
• Kinematic viscosity at 40 °C — 13–21 mm²/s.
• Acid number per 1 g of oil — max 0.02.
• Ash content — max 0.05%.
• Sulfur mass fraction in oils from sour crudes — max 1%.
• Mechanical impurities — none.
• Water content — traces.
• Density at 20 °C — max 880 kg/m³.
• Pour point — max –15 °C.
• Color on CNT colorimeter — max 2.5.
• Flash point, open cup — min 170 °C.
Applications:
• Lubrication of bearings, bushings, and assemblies of textile machines;
• Lubrication of spindles of metal-cutting machine tools, with spindle speeds up to 5000 rpm;
• Guide heads of drawing-polishing, drawing-boring, and other machine tools;
• Bearings of low-power electric motors with ring-type lubrication systems;
• Hydraulic drives (positive displacement) operating indoors and outdoors;
• Piston group of ammonia compressors and other equipment.
